Configure performance management permissions

Configure performance management permissions

At a high level, there are two kinds of access users can have to Performance Management in Rise.

  1. Access your own reviews, check-ins, and goals, either as an employee or manager.
  2. Administrative access to view and manage reviews, check-ins and goals for everyone.

The former is fully automated based on participation and requires no special roles or permissions to be configured. As long as users have the essential permission “Access performance management,” they’re all set.

Review and check-in cycle participants will see the review cycle they’ve been added to. Goal owners and their managers will see the goals assigned to them. Any public goals will be visible to everyone. This is all based on who participates in various activities and doesn’t require special roles.

Additionally, users can have administrative permissions to view and manage reviews, check-in cycles, and everyone’s goals. Rise has two permissions for this: “Manage goals” and “Check-in and review cycles, templates, and questions.” Both of these should be set to “no access” for non-admins.
