Frequently Asked Questions - 2-Step Verification

Frequently Asked Questions - 2-Step Verification

Q: What is 2-Step Verification?

A: 2-Step Verification adds a second layer of security to your account. After you enable 2-Step Verification, you’ll need to verify your identity using a one-time passcode generated by an authenticator app on your smartphone or tablet before you can log into your Rise HR account.

Q: What happens if I can’t access my authenticator app?

A: If you can’t access your authenticator app and 2-Step Verification has been enabled on your Rise account, please contact support@risepeople.com for help accessing your account.

Q: Can I disable 2-Step Verification after I’ve enabled it?

A: Yes. Check out our How to enable and disable 2-Step Verification article for help with this.

Q: What apps can I use for 2-Step Verification?

A: You can use any authenticator app of your choice. We recommend Twilio Authy, Duo Mobile, or Google Authenticator (available on iOS and Android devices) apps when setting up your 2-Step Verification. For help linking the app to your Rise account, check out our How to enable and disable 2-Step Verification article.

Q: Can I use 2-Step Verification if I use Rise Payroll<->HR Single Sign On (SSO)?

A: Yes. After you activate 2-Step Verification in your Rise HR account (for help with this, check out our How to enable 2-Step Verification article), you’ll be asked for a passcode when you log in at https://platform.risepeople.com/auth/#/sso-login.

Q: Can I make it mandatory for all employees in my organization to use 2-Step Verification?

A: At the moment, you can’t enable 2-Step Verification for all employees, but we’re aiming to offer this feature in the future.
