How to manage shifts in Rise Scheduling & Time Tracking

1. To open a schedule, click Schedules in the navigation menu on the left-hand side and click the schedule’s name to open it. You can also click the Calendar icon to open the schedule.


2. To filter scheduled employees, use the filter menu at the top. Your filters will be applied the next time you open the schedule.

Click the arrows on either side of the date range to view the schedule for the prior and upcoming weeks.


3. To view the schedule for the day, click Today.


4. To filter employees by location, click Location and choose which location(s) you wish to view.


5. To filter employees by department, click Department and choose which department(s) you wish to view.


6. To filter employees by position, click Position and choose which position(s) you wish to view.



Each employee's number of scheduled hours for the week will be shown below their name.


7. To edit a shift, click the shift.


8. You can edit the shift date, time, location, department, employee name, position, classification tag, shift name, and recurrence details. Once completed, click Save Changes.


9. To copy a shift, right-click on the shift and click Copy.


10. To paste a shift, navigate to the employee row, select the date, right-click and click Paste.


11. To delete a shift, right-click on the shift and click Delete.


12. To move a shift, simply drag and drop the shift.


13. To copy forward shifts to a particular week, navigate to the top-right corner, click the dropdown and click Copy Forward.


14. Click the dropdown to choose the week, and click Copy Forward.


15. Click Requests to review the shift drop or shift cover requests for this schedule. You can accept or reject each request. 


If a shift cover request is accepted, it is re-assigned to the specified employee. If a shift drop request is accepted, it becomes a vacant shift.


16. Once completed, click Publish to publish the schedule. 


17. A warning will appear if there are any conflicts in the schedule. You can still publish a schedule that has warnings. You can also choose to send scheduled employees a notification. Next, click Publish Schedule.
