How to navigate the Time Approval page in Rise Scheduling & Time Tracking

How to navigate the Time Approval page in Rise Scheduling & Time Tracking

1. In Scheduling, click Time Approval in the navigation menu on the left-hand side.

2. You'll be taken to Time Approval. To filter your view, use the filter menu at the top to narrow shifts down by date, location, department, or status/match. Your filter(s) will be saved, so you’ll see them the next time you open Time Approval.

3. Click the arrows on either side of the date range to view the hours for the prior and upcoming weeks or days. To view a clickable calendar to choose your dates, click the date range.

4. To view the shifts for one day, choose Time by Day as the View. If an employee has multiple shifts on one day, the employee will appear multiple times on the page.

5. To view the shifts for one week, choose View by Week—with this filter applied, in the bar below the filters you’ll see the total time scheduled, total time clocked, total time approved, and total time unapproved. You can hover over the i (information icon) next to Classification to view how many hours for each pay code. With this filter applied, click the + icon by the employee’s name to view their time record for the week.

6. To filter shifts by location, click Location and choose which location(s) you wish to view.

It will show you the following:
  • All time entries (not employees) that were worked at a chosen location.

  • AND shows all time entries that were worked without ANY location

Examples:
  • If an employee who doesn’t belong to the chosen location worked there, their time entry will show up.

  • If an employee who belongs to the chosen location worked elsewhere, their time entry will not show up.

  • If an employee who belongs to the chosen location didn’t track time in the chosen time period, they will not show up.

  • If an employee worked a shift without a location, that time entry WILL show up, even with the filter applied. This is done, so that time entries without locations don’t fall through the cracks and get lost.

  • A time entry can have a location, but its not a required field.

7. To filter shifts by department, click Department and choose which department(s) you wish to view.

It will show you the following:

  • All time entries (not employees) that were worked within a chosen department.

Examples and considerations:
  • If an employee who doesn’t belong to the chosen department worked there, their time entry will show up.

  • If an employee who belongs to the chosen department worked elsewhere, their time entry will not show up.

  • If an employee who belongs to the chosen department didn’t track time in the chosen time period, they will not show up.

  • Every time entry is attached to a department.

8. To filter by team, will show all time entries that were worked by employees who belong to a chosen team.

9. To filter shifts by status/match, click Status/Match and choose which shift status(es) you wish to view. This is useful if you’re looking for all shifts that haven’t been approved, or shifts that are missing a punch. You can apply multiple filters if you need to.
