How to update compensation for an employee without a payroll profile

Note that the steps below only apply to employees who haven’t been added to Payroll. For instructions on how to update an employee’s compensation information in Payroll, check out our article on How do I set up or adjust an employee's compensation.

1. In People, navigate to the profile of the employee you want to adjust compensation for.


2. On the Journey tab of the employee’s profile, click + Add an Event.


3. In the Add an Event window, select Change Compensation under Event Type and select an Effective Date for the compensation change.


4. To change the employee’s pay rate, check the Pay Rate box and add a new pay rate. To update the employee’s compensation method, check the Compensation Method box and select a new compensation method.


5. Click Save once you’re done.
