Connect ChatGPT to Rise

Connect ChatGPT to Rise

Add Rise as a connector in ChatGPT so you can ask questions about your Rise reporting data right inside a chat. For what you can ask once it's set up, see Use an AI assistant with Rise.

Alert
Early access: Connecting an AI assistant to Rise is currently available in early access. To request access for your organization, contact Support.
Info
Note: How you set this up depends on your ChatGPT plan. On Plus or Pro, you add the connector yourself after turning on Developer mode. On Business, Enterprise, or Edu, a workspace admin adds it for everyone. You also need a Rise account with reporting access.

Plus or Pro: set it up yourself

1. Turn on Developer mode

  1. Go to Settings > Connectors (it may show as Apps & Connectors).
  2. Open Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode.
Notes
Note: Developer mode lets connected tools take actions that can change data. Only turn it on if you're comfortable reviewing what the assistant does before you approve it.

2. Add the Rise connector

  1. Choose Add custom connector.
  2. Enter the name Rise, the server URL https://mcp.risepeople.com/mcp, and set authentication to OAuth.
  3. Save, then sign in with your Rise account.
  4. Approve the access request. reports:read covers most questions; also approve reports:write if you want ChatGPT to build and save reports.

Business, Enterprise, or Edu: admin sets it up

On these plans, a workspace admin adds Rise as a custom connector and publishes it to members. Once that's done, you turn on Rise in a chat and sign in with your own Rise account. If you don't see Rise as an option, ask your workspace admin to add it.

Use the connector

  1. Start a new chat.
  2. Open the + (tools) menu and turn on Rise.
  3. Ask your question. For example: "List employees with an April birthday and their pay."

Troubleshooting

  • You don't see a connector option. On Plus or Pro, make sure Developer mode is on. On Business, Enterprise, or Edu, ask your workspace admin to add the connector.
  • Sign-in failed. Allow pop-ups for ChatGPT, then try again.
  • ChatGPT can't find any reports. Your Rise account may need reporting access turned on. Contact Support.
  • ChatGPT can't save a report. Reconnect and approve the reports:write permission during sign-in.

Remove the connector

Go to Settings > Connectors and remove Rise. This revokes ChatGPT's access to your Rise data.
