General task management  

Q: When can I assign tasks to an employee?

A: At any time.

Q: How do I create and assign individual tasks?

A: In HR under Tasks on the left-hand side, click on Everyone’s Tasks, then click the Add task button. From there, you can assign the task to an employee. For more information, please check out our How to add and assign an individual task article.

Q: Do task assignees receive an email notification when they’ve been assigned a task?

A: Yes, email notifications are sent to task assignees immediately. Assignee will also see an in-app notification if they are already logged into Rise letting them know that they have a task to complete.

Q: How do I access and complete a task?

A: First, you’ll be notified via email. Once logged into HR, click Tasks on the left-hand side, then click on To Do. From there, you can view all your assigned tasks to complete. For more information, please check out our How to complete a task article.

Q: Can I assign tasks to a person outside of my organization?

A: No, you can only assign tasks to a person who has a profile within Rise.

Q: Can I assign more than one task template to an employee?

A: Yes, you can add as many as you want.

A: Yes, you can. Copy the external page URL, then when you create a new task, paste the URL into the Link section. Make sure to enter the full link (ex. https://www.google.com).

A: Yes. Once you’re logged into Rise, click on Organization Profile on the left-hand side, then click the Files tab to view all your folders. Next, click on the correct folder then copy the URL. When you create a new task, paste the URL into the Link section. Note that your employees need to be logged in to access this link.

Q: How can I see who has incomplete tasks?

A: If you have permission to manage tasks, you’ll have an Everyone’s tasks tab when you navigate to Tasks. Anyone with the permission to manage tasks can view, edit and delete tasks on behalf of other employees.


Q: Can I remind employees to complete their open tasks?

A: Yes. From the Everyone’s tasks tab in the Tasks page, click the three-dots menu and select Nudge assignee. When you nudge someone, they will receive an email notification and in-app notification reminding them to complete the task.

Onboarding task management 

Q: Can I assign tasks to a new employee after their profile has been created in onboarding?

A: Yes, you can assign a new employee tasks using the task manager in Rise.
 

Q: At the end of onboarding an employee (i.e. after I’ve hit the ‘Send to HR’ button), can I still assign them tasks?

A: Yes, you can use the task manager in Rise to assign tasks to a new employee.
 

Q: How do I create specific task templates for onboarding?

A: In Rise under Tasks on the left-hand side, click the Task Templates tab. Then, click the Create template button to create onboarding task templates. Please check out our How to create and assign a task template article for more information. 

Roles and permissions

Q: Who can create task templates?

A: Any user with the Manage Tasks permission. By default, this is only Owners and Admins.

Q: Who can create and assign individual tasks?

A: Any user with the Manage Tasks permission. By default, this is only Owners and Admins.

Q: Which roles can view the entire organization’s task list?

A: Any user with the Manage Tasks permission. By default, this is only Owners and Admins.
