How to enable and disable 2-Step Verification

Note: To learn more about what 2-Step Verification is, check out our Frequently Asked Questions - 2-Step Verification article.

1. Log into Rise, click your name in the top-right corner, then click Settings.

2. Go into Account Settings.

3. Download an authenticator app on your smartphone or tablet. We recommend the Google Authenticator (also available on iOS), Twilio Authy, or Duo Mobile apps.

4. Open the authenticator app, and add a new account by clicking the + icon. Follow the instructions in the app and scan the QR code or enter the key. The app will then begin generating a different one-time passcode every 30 seconds.

5. Enter the one-time passcode before it expires (as indicated by the app) and click Verify to connect your Rise account to your authenticator app.

6. Once successfully verified, you will see a green Enabled badge.

7. If, for some reason, you'd like to disable 2-step verification, enter the one-time passcode in your authenticator app and click Disable 2-step verification. For security reasons, we recommend leaving this setting enabled.
